POSITION OVERVIEW
Candidate will be responsible for developing, releasing and supporting web-applications written in ASP.NET, C# with SQL Server backend. The candidate will be a key part of dynamic team of software engineers.
Candidate will participate in projects to introduce new applications into our clients computing environment. Candidate will implement enterprise-scale web and client/server applications using logically tiered client/server architectures, distributed run-time environments, and commercial software. The work will span the complete software development life cycle, from identifying business requirements to deployment and long-term application support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design/write custom software code using Visual Studio 2005 and other established development tools.
- Support of the existing applications and development of new applications.
- Work with other developers to maintain and refine the development process from project conception to deployment .
- Works with the Project Management, Architects and other Senior Application Developers on application design and development.
- Translates functional specifications into detailed written technical specifications and unit test plans.
- Develops web-based software, components and services using the Windows .Net software development platform.
- Consult with the QA and development teams in the resolution of application-related problems.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Requires a detailed understanding of the MS Windows platform and architecture including the .NET Framework.
- Experienced developing web-based applications using Visual Studio .NET .
- Familiar with the following languages: C++, C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript and HTML.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for full software development life cycle.
- Must be able to rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the job functions.
- Must be able to work with junior members of the team, assisting as a resource and mentor.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS A PLUS:
- Experience with systems and business processes supporting Claims Management/Risk Management software.
- Experience with Business reporting systems, such as, Business Objects (Crystal).
- Experience with planning and implementing systems integration and development projects.
- Familiarity with network servers, PC clients, and telecommunications technologies.
- Strong understanding of how to work effectively within the development environment.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related degrees. A MS degree is a plus.
- Requires at least 5 years of hands-on experience working with a combination of ASP, C# and SQL Server.
- Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) is a plus.
- Must be able to work independently and efficiently within a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
