Business Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW:

DAVID Corporation is looking for a Business Analyst/Project Manager (BA/PM). The BA/PM serves as the client advocate and is the primary liaison between the client and DAVID staff throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The BA/PM also manages the client relationship post-implementation and provides ongoing support. The BA/PM is responsible for overseeing the timely delivery for all implementations ensuring scope and budget expectations are met. The BA/PM will work with clients to analyze their current and future business needs, recommend best practice solutions, and define and document the detailed specifications for tailoring the software application to these solutions. As an integral member of the DAVID team, the BA/PM will also perform system testing, preparation of user guides and training of the client. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead projects and implementations from initiation to client Go-Live.
• Conduct business requirement interviews with clients both on-site and remotely.
• Analyze client business requirements and assess their necessity and feasibility based on business, technical and contractual constraints.
• Understand the client's existing business processes and assist the client in defining improved business solutions based on the application functionality.
• Prepare detailed documentation of the business solution, rules and software requirements (business, functional and reporting specifications) to meet the client's business needs.
• Manage and support the technical team during the development cycle.
• Manage and support QA in the creation of test plans and scripts. Perform integration and application testing to ensure the documented requirements and business needs are met.
• Develop client user training materials and deliver end-user training on the application.
• Ensure project remains on time, within scope and budget as detailed in the contract.
• Detail requirements and perform testing on requested changes for existing clients.
• Work with Support Analysts to replicate problems reported by clients and provide timely, quality resolutions. test resolutions before implementing.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Client advocate with a focus on the client's best interest and needs while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times with the client.
    • Effective negotiating skills with both the client and internal team members. Must be able to drive win-win solutions.
    • Understand the entire SDLC with experience in all facets, except development.
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills using both qualitative and quantitative information. Strategically identify and address problems; examine issues from cross functional perspective in the decision making process.
    • Experienced in business process efficiencies with the ability to drive creative, effective solutions.
    • Able to utilize project management techniques such as planning and scheduling, scope control and risk mitigation.
    • Able to deliver presentations and training in a formal environment.
    • Experienced in conducting JAD sessions involving fast paced analysis and documentation.
    • Able to continue progress of project and motivation of team during the course of an implementation.
    • Self-motivated and proactive in a fast-paced environment.
    • Self-learner with ability to grasp the insurance industry terminology and business processes of our clients.
    • Multi-tasking skills a must to be able to handle changing priorities and multiple client projects concurrently.
    • Proficient in waterfall and agile implementation methodologies.
     

      DESIRED SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

        • Experience in risk management and insurance industry highly desired
        • Client/Web application analysis
        • Experience documenting large business, functional and reporting specifications
        • Experience managing complex projects
        • Travel required (30%)
         

          JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

            • Bachelors' or higher degree with 5 years of software business analyst experience.
            • Exceptional communication, organization & client-service skills.
            • Must be a creative problem solver, able to think and work on-the-fly in a dynamic environment

              This position is available in our San Francisco office.
